World Mina Day 2022 – Round Up

I thought it might be nice to do a quick round up of all the things that happened on World Mina Day 2022. It was fantastic to bring the Mina community together from all its different corners and celebrate being part of this special project.

I started the day early at 6.30am UTC with the first quiz of the day happening in India. It was the first of six Mina quizzes all in different languages (Indian, Japanese, Chinese, Ukrainian, Turkish and finishing with our last quiz in English around 10:30pm UTC). Many thanks to Jiten (India) , ハル🔮占い師   and ろろ (Japan), Ryan minaclub22kb (China), Vladyslav (Ukraine) and Xenit from Turkey

The quizzes were a brilliant success and the winner of each one was able to secure a Mina Swag-bag (courtesy of Mina Foundation). These will be winging their way to their new respective owners very soon.

Before the Turkish quiz we were really honoured to have Emre from O1 Labs set aside some of his valuable time to come and talk with Xenit and answer questions from community members. If you weren’t able to hear it live, you can listen to a recording again below (in Turkish).

We were also lucky enough to hear from Mina Foundation CEO Evan Shapiro ahead of the English quiz and star Mina Community member/ Snapp builder Trivo was also on hand to answer questions from the audience on a range of subjects.

Listen to a recording below.

World Mina Day NFT’s
Just before world Mina Day we created a set of 22 limited edition NFT’s (you can read more about them here) and the final 3 were sold on the day, raising $3,283.45* amount at the time to Crypto Relief.

Please note that $100 of the final amount was put aside to pay for the gas fees to convert the Polygon into USDC and send to Crypto Relief. Any funds left over will be kept in the wallet and (should any of the NFT’s be sold before World Mina Day 2023 the 10% commission on all future sales will also be sent to the charity). That is unless there is a significant change in the circumstances of Covid and it is felt through community discussion it could be more impactful if the funds were donated elsewhere.

You can see the NFT’s here >

We also created some awesome Mina Cocktails and Mina Pizza to get us in the party mood, many thanks to Robyn from Mina Foundation for her inspirational help and input with those.

Once again we thank everyone for their support and we are already discussing ideas for World Mina Day 2023. If you want to get involved drop us a line info@minacrypto.com. You can grab all our news by signing up to our weekly newsletter here >
